Skull_duggery is not just a show about DEATH but also about the joy of LIFE.
Mortality, humanity, the supposed separateness of body and mind, the transcendence of temporal existence;
the motif of the skull makes explicit the essential finitude of humanity and the limitation of human knowledge.
The skull as metaphor for understanding, perhaps that of GOD.
[human vision and knowledge is necessarily limited by time and place; the fabled GOD sees and knows all things everywhere and forever]
